Types of Jewelry
Modern
Modern jewelry consists of pieces that are sixty years old or less. The modern jewelry movement is made up of many exciting new coloring, harvesting and creation techniques, as well as a mixture of various types of jewel-making practices from around the world.
Vintage
Vintage jewelry is pre-owned jewelry that is less than one hundred years old. These pieces come very frequently as costume jewelry, or pieces that are made with imitation or inexpensive materials.
Antique
Antique jewelry is at least one hundred years old or older. These pieces are most usually authentic from past decades or are styled to represent past movements in jewelry history.
Estate
Estate jewelry simply means that the piece has been pre-owned. Usually these articles come from estates of the deceased or living and private entities. This jewelry is most usually vintage or antique in nature.
